Jimmy’s idyll is turned upside down by the sudden death of his wife. Two years later, Jimmy has spiralled into a self-denied depression and works a mediocre job. It seems as bad as it can get. Until it gets worse: when his young son leaves to live with an aunt until his daddy can get himself back on track.
Jimmy needs to turn his life around and get his son back, and he knows his incredible but hidden natural talent is the means; his genius for designing women’s fashion!
So, all he has to do is overcome his blue-collar prejudice against the perceived world of haute couture and turn his life around, right?
Wrong: In order to get ahead in this glamorous, kitsch world of runway shows and glossy magazines, he has to become the embodiment of style and flair himself, the face of the talent. However, when the only company left open to him has a closeted “gay-only” designer policy, Jimmy realises he’s going to have to become as different a man to himself as he could ever imagine, in order to restore the best man in himself for his son.
